Abba Date - 13th January 1978

On the 13th January 1978 Abba released "The Album" in the UK where it reached number 1 on the album chart on the 4th February at which time the top five selling albums were -

1. Abba - "The Album"
2. Fleetwood Mac - "Rumours"
3. Andy Williams - "Reflections"
4. Bread - "The Sound Of Bread"
5. Donna Summer - "Greatest Hits"

The album spent 7 weeks at the number 1 position and was the 3rd biggest selling album in the UK in 1978 with the soundtracks from "Saturday Night Fever" and "Grease" being the top two sellers.

The album also went to the top of the charts in Belgium, Norway and Sweden together with a number of other countries - the table below shows chart positions from around the world -
