I recent bought a few copies of the "Frida International" magazine from e-Bay ; the images below are from issue number 15 which was published in September 1985. The magazine contains news and updates from the time as well as a press article from the "Something's Going On" documentary.

The majority of the magazine is taken up with talk of the latest single "Summer Night City" (which had sold quarter of a million copies on the first day) and an interview with the group in the studio where they were recording two new tracks "Just A Notion" and "The King Has Lost His Crown".

Record Collector April 1999

The April 1999 edition of the Record Collector magazine included ABBA on the cover with two articles inside. The first was a detailed re-telling of the story of ABBA's victory in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest ; from the first meeting between Bjorn and Benny to the groups struggle for a hit single after "Waterloo". The second article was a review of the ABBA The Singles Collection CD box-set.

Collection Update - ABBA The Movie Laser Disc

I recently added a second laser disc to my collection - this time a copy of ABBA The Movie. The disc was released in the UK in 1983 by MGM - what is interesting is that the front cover doesn't have the normal ABBA The Movie image instead they used a picture from the 1979 concert.

Frida The DVD

This Frida DVD box set has always been one of my favourite items in my collection - I know Agnetha has something similar for her Swedish albums but hopefully she will release a box set of her English albums.

Collection Update - "People Need Love" CD Single

A recent addition to my collection is a white CD single for "People Need Love" - as with the original 7" single in 1972 the group were yet to be named ABBA with the record credited to Bjorn & Benny with Frieda & Anna.

ABBA Magazine #7

ABBA Magazine #7 had a picture of Benny on the front cover (see below) and included news of the groups latest single "Summer Night City" as well as mentions of an as yet unnamed album (which would turn out to be "Voulez-Vous").

The magazine starts with a little introduction from each member of the group...

The new few pages are taken up with an interview with Frida where she discusses her home life, hobbies etc.

The back cover includes a recent picture of the group...
