On the 29th March 1976 Abba's "Fernando" entered the West German singles chart - the single would go on to spend 26 weeks in the charts seven of which were at number 1. "Fernando" was part of a run of six number 1 singles in a row in West Germany for Abba as shown below -
- S.O.S - 7 weeks
- Mamma Mia - 1 week
- Fernando - 7 weeks
- Dancing Queen - 1 week
- Money. Money, Money - 5 weeks
- Knowing Me, Knowing You - 2 weeks
After "Knowing Me, Knowing You" in 1977 it would be 1980 before Abba would return to the top of the charts in West Germany with "Super Trouper".
