On the 12th December 1977 ABBA released "ABBA The Album" in Scandinavia however due to problems meeting the massive pre-release demand the album wasn't released in the UK until 1978.
When the album was eventually released in the UK it was the first ABBA album to enter the album chart at number 1 (where it replaced Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours") spending seven weeks at the top of the chart.
The album spent 39 consecutive weeks in the UK top 40 and during March 1978 "Arrival" and "Greatest Hits" were also in the top 15.
