ABBA Magazine #35

Issue 35 of the ABBA Magazine was published in May 1981 and started with a report that the "Gracias Por La Musica" album had been selling well in Japan with over 80,000 copies sold at that point - it is also noted that the imported version from Japan (on the Discomate record label) had been spotted for sale in UK record shops

Also in the editorial there is a mention of the "Words And Music" TV programme which had been shown in the the UK on the previous Good Friday.

The majority of this issue was taken up with news related to Stig's 50th birthday celebrations - in fact this was spread over 9 pages of the magazine.

The second major article in this issue was an interview with Buddy McCluskey who alongside his wife Mary provided the Spanish lyrics to the songs which ABBA re-recorded for Spanish speaking countries.

As a follow on from the previous article the next section provides a discography from Argentine where ABBA records were released under the RCA record label. What is interesting from this list is that prior to the Spanish version of "Chiquitita" ABBA records did not do that well in the charts ; also that both the English and Spanish versions of the single charted.
