International Abba Magazine #11

Issue 11 of the International Abba Magazine was published in October 1982 and featured a great picture of Frida on the front cover. The editorial section started with news that Frida had shot a video for her second solo single "I See Red".

The main content in this issue was part two of an interview with Bjorn and Benny from "Songwriter" magazine during which they discussed their musical influences, Abba's international success, their song writing process and the plans for the group's next album.

The magazine also included images from Frida's "I Know There's Something Going On" video, an offer for Abba's 1983 calendar (£3.50!), a look at the work done by the French Fan Club and some great pictures of all four of the group.

Collection - 1984 Abba Remixes

Earlier this year I managed to get a copy of an album released by Epic in 1984 called "Energhighs" which included official remixes for "The Visitors" and "Lay All Your Love On Me".

I remember reading about this album at the time but never managed to find it in the shops however I had always assumed that rather like the various maxi 12" singles which were issued the tracks would be the same as the album versions.

So having bought a turntable in July I was able to finally listen to the album and to my surprise the track are remixed - and well - the two songs are even blended together in the mix so there is no gap between them.

I recommend that anyone who was access to a turntable has a hunt on eBay for this album as it is well worth adding to any collection.

Collection Update - Hungarian 7" Double A-Side

The latest Abba 7" single I have added to my collection is a "Dancing Queen" / "Fernando" double a-side from Hungary which was released in 1977. As if this release isn't unusual enough the single cover is a picture taken from the "Waterloo" photo sessions.
