Abba Date - 16th January 1979

On the 16th January 1979 Abba released their latest single "Chiquitita" in Sweden - the single was released in the UK 10 days later on the 26th January where it reached number 2 during w/c 10th February when the top 5 was as follows -

1. Blondie - "Heart Of Glass"
2. Abba - "Chiquitita"
3. Three Degrees - "Woman In Love"
4. Ian Dury And The Blockheads - "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick"
5. Shadows - "Don't Cry For Me Argentina"

"Chiquitita" spent a further week at number 2 (whilst "Heart Of Glass" was still number 1) and eventually became the 16th biggest selling single of 1979 in the UK.
