On the 31st March 1971 Frida released her album "Frida" (produced by Benny) on the EMI record label.
In this months edition of Attitude magazine in the UK there is an article mentioning the 40th anniversary of the Eurovision win at Brighton.
After the review of "Waterloo" in "Q" yesterday today it's the turn of another music magazine in the UK "Uncut" to include a review which is shown below...
On the 27th March 1976 ABBA released their latest single "Fernando" in the UK. The single reached the number 1 spot in the singles chart on the 8th May (replacing the Brotherhood Of Man's "Save All Your Kisses For Me") where it stayed until the 4th June.
The single was the 7th biggest selling single of 1976 in the UK in the same year when "Dancing Queen" was the 4th biggest seller. The single also reached number one in a range of countries including Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Mexico and South Africa.
In the May 2014 issue of "Q" magazine there is a great review of the "Waterloo" album which is re-released next month as part of the 40th anniversary ABBA wining the Eurovision in Brighton.
On the 26th March 1978 ABBA appeared on the UK Saturday morning TV program "Swap Shop" where they won the "Best Group" award for 1978.
Here are a couple of ABBA birthday cards which I have received over the years - I love the quote "Their voices were a match in musical heaven".
The latest Frida item to be added to my collection is a "Ogonen" CD single which includes the original album version of the song plus two remixes.
I have just received my copy of "ABBA The Treasures" by Ingmarie Halling and Carl Magnus Palm - looks like it should be a good read...
On the 21st March 1975 ABBA appeared on a broadcast of "TopPop" in the Netherlands singing "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" - the performance had been recorded earlier in March when the group also performed "SOS".

Here is a 12" version of Agnetha's single "The Heat Is On" from my collection. The single was released on the Polydor record label in 1983.
In Sweden on the 17th March 2000 a set of stamps featuring ABBA in their Waterloo costumes were issued - I recently added the set to my collection which is shown below.
