On the 21st August 1978 ABBA filmed the video for their latest single "Summer Night City".

17th August 1982 Frida Releases UK Solo Single

On the 17th August 1982 Frida released "I Know There's Something Going On" as a 7" single in the UK - although quite a big hit in the rest of Europe the single only reached number 43 in the UK and spent 7 weeks inside the Top 75.

East German "The Winner Takes It All"

The latest item I have added to my collection is a 7" copy of "The Winner Takes It All" from East Germany on the Amiga record label.

9th August 1980 - The Winner Takes It All

On the 9th August 1980 ABBA hit the number 1 spot in the UK with "The Winner Takes All" -the single stayed at number 1 for 2 weeks and was replaced by David Bowies "Ashes To Ashes".

Today In 1976 - ABBA Release "Dancing Queen" in the UK

On the 6th August 1976 ABBA released "Dancing Queen" in the UK - the single hit the number 1 spot on 4th September replacing Elton John's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and stayed at number 1 for 6 weeks.
