On the 27th September 1975 Abba's "S.O.S" entered the UK singles chart at number 31 then began a steady march up the charts as follows -
- w/c 4th October - #16
- w/c 11th October - #13
- w/c 18th October - #7
- w/c 25th October - #6

The single was the 64th biggest selling single of 1975 in the UK ; the Bay City Rollers "Bye Bye Baby" being the top of the end of year chart.
The single was also a huge hit across Europe and further afield - the image below shows the chart position reached in a number of countries -
